الشيخ عبد الله بن فودي
Sheikh Abdullahi dan Fodio (1766–1829) was a distinguished Fulani Islamic scholar, jurist, teacher, poet, and administrator. He played a pivotal role in the Sokoto Jihad (1804–1808), serving as both a military leader and chief advisor. After the establishment of the Caliphate, he became the first Emir of Gwandu, governing the western provinces of the Caliphate and ensuring the application of Islamic law and justice. Sheikh Abdullahi was also a prolific author, composing numerous works in Arabic on jurisprudence, theology, ethics, and governance.
